Who/what are your greatest influences?
Nightwish, Epica, Amberian Dawn, Kamelot, Tristania, Sirenia, Trail Of Tears, Dimmu Borgir, My Dying Bride, Ayreon, Alan Menken, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Richard Strauss, Giacomo Puccini, Nikolaj Rimski-Korsakov.

How did you start out with music?
I got my first pianolessons at a young age and after years of playing classical pieces I started to shift my attention towards popular music. During my high school years I found out performing together with others interested me the most, whereas pianists mostly perform solo. Furthermore I caught the metal virus at that time and after that the purchase of a keyboard, as well as the starting of my own band, were just around the corner.

What inspires you musically?
Could be anything, from a beautiful sunset to a good glass of wine. I’ve also found that strong emotions such as anger, fear but also happiness can get the creative juices flowing quite easily.

What was your favorite gig with Kowai?
Technically speaking when I performed with my own band at the time, Vanadis, at the Boothill Saloon because Kowai also performed at the venue that night. However I’m really looking forward to performing with Kowai so I can add my own favorite gig here.

Do you have any special interests besides the band?
I’m into series such as Dexter, True Blood, Mad Men, Desperate Housewives and Six Feet Under, and particularly interested in British comedy shows such as Catherine Tate, Miranda, Absolutely Fabulous, Are You Being Served?, Fawlty Towers and ‘Allo ‘Allo. Furthermore I’m passionate about cooking, gadgets, travel and I’ve got two budgerigars.
